IS EVERYONE SURVIVING THIS HEATWAVE THAT WE'RE HAVING?

You know I've never been a big air conditioning fan...but maybe the time has come to 'bite the bullet' and finally add it to my appliance list in my home. in the last few days, I've had fans going including one in the basement at the bottom of the stairs...to blow the cool air upstairs and it's still hotter than Hades.

We really don't get too many days where we really need air conditioning, but I'd say this week is one of them.

I try to do the 'right' thing by conserving energy by not using appliances such as this, but when you've stayed up for several nights now rolling back and forth under the ceiling fan praying for sleep...and cooler temperatures, I'm finding everyone around me would prefer if I had air conditioning... and sleep.

When showing properties in weather like this, it is very difficult to promote a home that doesn't have air conditioning.  The prospective buyers walk through the front door and the first thing that hits them is a blast of hot air.  It doesn't give you a good first impression.  I'm not suggesting that sellers run out and have an air conditioner installed in their home, but it is very important to always remember that the first impression of your home can leave a lasting impression. Perhaps another fan of some sort or utilizing the fan on your furnace to blow the cooler air from downstairs upward...it's worth considering.

If anyone can come up with an alternative to air conditioning that is legal, cheaper...and, please,  no sarcastic replies, please let me know.

Stay cool.

Trish

P.S:  In four months time, I'll be complaining of the cold
