Well 2010 is here...whether we want it to be or not !

Did everyone make those New Years Resolutions?  Yes... I did, and the one about eating healthier went out the window Jan 1st.  All those boxed chocolates and homemade toffee with chocolate on top got the better of me.  Oh well, there's always next year.

What new and exciting things have we got to look forward to for 2010?  Let's see...harmonized sales tax, cold blustery winter weather, and did I mention harmonized sales tax.

Now, the good stuff.  We have until the end of January to purchase items for the house and still get the Home Renovation Tax Credit.  Numbers are in for the month of December for real estate listings and sales in the Georgian Triangle.  According to the stats from 2008 to 2009, things are looking up!

From now until July 1st when the Harmonized Sales Tax GRABS us...like a starving Chihuahua that hasn't seen food for 3 months (not that I know any Chihuahuas that go without food for more than 3 hours at a time), this should be the time to go out and make those purchases that are going to be dearly affected.  So, the economy should be on a definite upswing for the first 2 quarters of this year.

Then there's the possibility of interest rates increasing.  That could  open up another 'can of worms'.  But, that's for another blog.

Enjoy your week (if that's possible after reading all my doom and gloom!)

Trish
